New advertising customers at Frankfurt Airport: Media Frankfurt is giving numerous FMCG brands a broad stage during the holiday season for the first time.

Frankfurt a. Main, 10th August 2021 – On 1 June Terminal 2 at Frankfurt Airport has started operation again. Media Frankfurt, the airport’s marketing arm, can report now the presence of numerous advertising customers for its advertising space. A pleasing fact is that some customers have decided for the first time to use the possibilities of Frankfurt Airport for their brand messages. Also, with Gerolsteiner and Ritter Sport, new customers include well-known brands that are assigned to "Fast Moving Consumer Goods" (FMCG) products.

“Thanks to the security standards at the airport, the fine-quality advertising spaces at the airport are in great demand again when it comes to OOH-booking”, says Peer Schmitz-Kuo, director of sales at Media Frankfurt. “The announcement by many airlines to chang most of the catering on their aircraft to a pay-for-food system is making the airport even more attractive as a shopping and advertising area for food and beverage.”  

Ritter Sport is focusing on its own sustainability strategy: with the claim “Doing the right thing to create really good chocolate...” the brand is addressing an international audience and inviting to interact via QR code to find out about the brand’s commitment to sustainable chocolate. This interaction happens on two advertising products, KingSize Lightbox and Colorama, which are booked till 31 August. During Euro 2020 Ritter Sport also took part with small chocolate bars in a promotion campaign at the duty free shops.

“Where do our minerals learn to fly? Up to 250 metres below ground”, reveals Gerolsteiner to those interested, picking a creative approach for the airport situation. Large WallPanels are in use for the mineral water from the Eifel region at the arrival and departure checks.
