With a central pick-up zone at Terminal 3 of Frankfurt Airport, Uber is creating another point of contact for arriving passengers at Frankfurt Airport. At the same time, the brand is already guiding passengers on their journey there – from the baggage reclaim area to the pick-up zone. A similar concept has already been implemented in Terminal 1.
Wayfinding meets airport advertising
This is where our ‘Waytising’ solution – a combination of ‘wayfinding’ and ‘advertising’ – comes into play. Along the route, travellers are guided step by step towards the Uber Pickup Zone by coordinated advertising and wayfinding elements.
Brand communication thus takes on an additional function: it not only ensures visibility, but also helps passengers find their way around the arrivals area. This means that Uber maintains a presence across multiple touchpoints and is directly linked to the next stage of the journey.
Brand presence throughout the passenger journey
This example illustrates how airport advertising at Frankfurt Airport can be integrated into the passenger journey. Rather than a single advertising touchpoint, it creates a cohesive brand presence along a specific route – precisely at the moment when travellers need guidance following their arrival.
With Waytising, Media Frankfurt combines out-of-home advertising, brand communication and wayfinding into a single solution that offers functional added value for both travellers and advertisers.
Our video on the Uber Waytising campaign at Terminal 3 shows how this works in practice:
